Hot Stone Massage

Ease Muscle Tension with Heated Basalt Stones

Each one hour or 1.5 hour hot stone massage therapy session promotes deeper muscle relaxation through the placement of smooth, water-heated stones over specific areas on the body. The stones used are basalt river rocks or other very smooth-surfaced stones made of basalt. These stones are heated in sanitizing water before use. The high iron content in basalt helps the stones retain heat during the massage. Hot stone massages are beneficial on both physical and psychological levels. Always check with your doctor before getting a hot stone massage; individuals with certain conditions--including pregnant women and people with high blood pressure are advised to avoid this type of therapy.

Hot Stones for Muscle Tension
The heat from the stones helps muscles relax which allows the massage therapist to manipulate your deep tissues more effectively. Overly tense muscles can hinder the massage procedure, so if your muscles are extremely tight or stiff, the heated stones may provide the extra relaxation you need for the massage to be beneficial in releasing tension and easing sore muscles.

Hot Stones for Pain Relief
While all types of massage can help relieve pain caused by tense muscles, stiff joints or injuries, a hot stone massage may provide greater relief due to the intense nature of the massage. Because the hot stones allow the massage therapist to penetrate deeper, you may find that a hot stone massage leaves you feeling physically better than a Swedish or deep-tissue massage that does not incorporate heat. It is important to let Robyn know if you feel that the heat from the stones is too much or that the pressure she is using is not to your liking. Pain or discomfort during the massage process can cause more harm than good after the massage is over.

Hot Stones for Mental Health
Massage can result in mental benefits as well as physical ones. You may find that the relaxation afforded to you through a hot stone massage assists in easing some of that mental stress and tension. A hot stone massage may also help you combat some of the symptoms of anxiety disorders and depression. While massage therapy is not a substitute for traditional medical or psychiatric care it can certainly be an integral part of your treatment plan.

Hot Stones for Improved Circulation

From the stones heat penetrates into deeper body tissues, your blood vessels dilate, resulting in improved circulation. Poor circulation can lead to fatigue, which tenses the muscles and a buildup of fluid and metabolic wastes in the muscles. Increased circulation delivers more oxygen to the muscles which can help ease aches and pains.

Detox | Lymphatic Massage

Activate Your Body's Infinite Wisdom

Detoxification or "detox" in general is the removal of harmful toxic substances from the body elevating oneself towards greater health, energy and vitality.
One of the major symptoms of toxicity in the body seems to be the breakdown of the immune function, which encourages you to experience

* headaches
* abdominal bloating
* muscle and joint pain
* constipation
* depression
* irritability
* flu-like symptoms
* fatigue
* heartburn
* mental fog/confusion
* allergies...

To ensure your body's optimal performance the detoxification organs require support and a good clean out.
Detox Massage is great for detoxification, fatigue and general wellbeing. The Lymphatic System has no pump, it's nourishing, water balancing eliminative functions are dependent upon musculoskeletal movement and diaphramic breathing. From inactivity it's common to develop a sluggish lymphatic flow along with consumption of processed foods and beverages with reduced water intake.
The Detox Massage is a light technique designed to stimulate the circulation of lymph to speed up the removal of wastes from all over the body. It works beautifully on the nervous system by reducing sympathetic activity, stimulating the defence of the immune system and increasing the flow and volume of lymph fluid.
Contraindications: people that suffer with the following should not have a Detox massage.
| extreme fatigue | underweight | blood sugar instability | major cardiac disorders | cancer patients | prior to or after surgery | pregnant or lactating women | children under 12 | abdominal pain | acute inflammatory conditions | history of thrombosis | infectious sinusitis | bronchitis | colds or flu | bacterial or viral infection | malignancies | nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea | acute thrombosis | TB | kidney disorders | asthma | cystitis |

It is advisable to contact your Healthcare Professional before commencing a Detox if taking medication. Consultation with a qualified and trusted Naturopath is recommended for a complete Detox program to suit individual needs.

Reiki Healing

Awaken your heart, mind and body

Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by "laying on hands" and is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" flows through us and is what causes us to be alive and well.
It's a therapy often described as palm healing or hands-on-body healing in which a practitioner places hands lightly on or over a patient's fully clothed body to facilitate the patient's process of healing. Reiki combines the Japanese and Chinese word-characters of "rei" (spiritual or supernatural) and "ki" (vital energy).
Life force flows within the physical body though pathways called chakras, meridians and nadis. ... This diminishes the vital function of the organs and cells of the physical body. Reiki heals by flowing through the affected parts of the energy field and charging them with positive loving and compassionate energy.
There is no typical Reiki session, no set protocol or length of time. Reiki can be administered by anyone who has training, which could be a professional practitioner, a healthcare provider, a friend or family member, or even yourself if you have been attuned to the levels of Reiki. There is no typical setting although a quiet place is preferable but Reiki can be done anywhere, no matter what else is happening either around or directly to the person needing healing. Moments of touch from a Reiki-trained practitioner can bring comfort in an acute or emergency situation, such as the onset of the flu or after an injury or surgery.
A Reiki session is offered to a fully clothed person who is lying on a treatment table.
Reiki is offered through light, non-invasive touch with the practitioner's hands placed and held on a series of locations on the head and front and back of the body. The placement of the hands is never intrusive or inappropriate, nor is there be any pressure.
Additional placements on the limbs can be done as needed (eg, if there is an injury, surgical scar or pain). The Reiki practitioner can hold her hands just off the body if needed (eg, an open wound or burn).
The experience of Reiki is subjective, changeable, and sometimes very subtle. People often experience heat in the practitioner's hands, but sometimes the practitioner's hands feel refreshingly cool. Other common experiences are subtle pulsations where the practitioner's hands are placed or rhythmical waves of pulsations throughout the body.
People often comment how comforting they find the experience of Reiki to be.
Reiki is cumulative and even people who don't notice much the first time usually have progressively deeper experiences as they continue. Besides the immediate experience you may notice other changes that continue to unfold like stronger digestion, a sense of being centered and less reactive and sleeping deeply and more soundly at night.

Young Living
Raindrop Technique®

Designed to bring physical, emotional and mental balance to the body and mind.

Raindrop Technique is an exciting new modality, which can be performed on both people and animals. In addition to being performed as a technique in its own right, the various elements of Raindrop Technique can be used to complement most other modalities, including massage (all forms), reflexology, bowen technique, shiatsu, chiropractic and physiotherapy.
 Raindrop technique is a powerful technique using essential oils that were developed by D. Gary Young in the 1980s. It combines several modalities to bring balance and transformation. It also supports body systems on a physical and emotional level.
The most amazing thing about Raindrop Technique is that all of my clients measure taller after just one session! Amazing results!
Raindrop Technique derives its name from the art of dripping unadulterated, therapeutic grade essential oils onto the body from a height (like rain), so that the oils interact with the physical body as well as the energy field. This was inspired by the Native American belief that raindrops falling from a height may purify and cleanse the body and spirit. Because the essential oils easily penetrate the skin and muscles, the technique works on deep levels of the body without requiring hard pressure or force.
* Aromatherapy – Raindrop technique uses seven single essential oils, two blends and one essential oil massage blend during the session. It is congruent with the French application of aromatherapy where essential oils are applied to the body.
Vita Flex Technique – Vita Flex was brought to the US in the 1920s by Stanley Burroughs. It is an ancient Tibetan methodology meaning "vitality through the reflexes". Its theory is based on the fact that slight pressure applied to the body creates an electric charge that is therapeutic to the body. This is known as piezoelectric.
* Feather Stroking - This is similar to a massage term technique called effleurage.
But this technique was actually termed by the Native American Indians and uses a much lighter pressure.

There are numerous benefits of the Raindrop Technique. Here are just a few:
* Balance and Re-align the Energy Centers of the Body – The combination of techniques brings electrical and structural alignment to the body. The essential oil blend of Valor helps the body align and is often referred to as "chiropractor in the bottle".
* Non-Manipulative Technique – No manipulation as in chiropractic is performed. The oils help support the body to come back into harmony by opening energy flow throughout the body.
* Reduce Stress and Minor Anxiety - Not only can the oils enhance positive emotions such as joy and happiness, but they can also help us release negative emotions that are subconsciously stored on a cellular level.
* Aid the Body's Natural Response to Irritation and Injury – Thyme and Oregano support the immune, respiratory, nervous and other body systems. They are strong antioxidants.
* Eases Muscle Discomfort – Muscles that are tense and in minor discomfort due to exercise will also benefit. Basil, Wintergreen, Marjoram, Cypress and Peppermint essential oils may reduce tension.
* Support Healthy Immune System – Thyme and Oregano essential oils support a healthy immune system.
* Emotional Well Being and Release – Essential oils effect the limbic system where emotions are stored in the "brain's emotional computer".
* Help Detox the Body Systems – The oils that are high in phenols may cleanse cellular receptor sites and enhance cleansing of the body.
